**Mark your calendars: Eighth annual Green Mountain Pug Rescue Social - Sept. 25, 2010 in Stowe, VT!**

PLEASE NOTE NEW SUMMER HOURS: 8:30 - 10 am, NOT 9:30! It has been so hot this year that by 9:30 it's too warm for the pugs. In the fall we may move back to a later hour, but for now this may help.

Please note that there are no official meeting cancellations - if the weather doesn't look comfortable for you, don't go. The weather is often different from town to town, so it's hard to determine exactly what it's doing in Augusta at any given time!

A reminder that members are expected to control their dog's behavior at all times. Overly boisterous dogs will be asked to remain on a leash.

slideshowSummer Meetings*: 8:30-10:00 am, late April-October, every Sunday morning (weather permitting) in Capitol Park, Augusta, right across from the State House. Well-behaved canine siblings welcome. Please bring plastic bags, water and a bowl.

Winter Meetings*: 10:30 am - noon, late October-April, FIRST and THIRD SUNDAYS of the month at Petco in the Turnpike Mall, Augusta. Pugs and SMALL canine siblings only, please (crowded).

*IMPORTANT NOTE: All dogs should be vaccinated for rabies, distemper, and - especially - kennel cough before attending meetings, especially those held indoors. The Pugusta Club does not take responsibility for illness resulting from close contact with other dogs.

ADOPTING A PUG
Pugs are wonderful dogs! They were bred to be companion animals, and in loving homes become part of the family. However, there are certain health and behavioral issues specific to the breed that you should be aware of before adopting one.
Everything you need to know about pugs!
Please read this before continuing.
The Pugusta Club has several responsible breeders who make healthy, happy pug puppies available for adoption.
Information about pug puppies
However, we strongly encourage prospective families to consider adoption rescued pugs. They come in all ages, and desparately need safe, loving homes to recover from the unkindness and neglect they have suffered.
Please contact these organizations for more information. They all offer adoptions in Maine.
Green Mountain Pug Rescue
The Pugusta Club itself occasionally has pugs available for rehoming, and is always willing to take in a pug that needs a new home. Please choose from the appropriate form:
ADOPTION FORM: I would like to adopt a pug who needs a new home.
RELINQUISH FORM: I am no longer able to care for my pug, and would like the Pugusta Club to find him/her a loving, forever home.
